- Even though both were great, the film didnt focus as much on Lecter's and Starling's 'relationship' as the book did, obviously some parts had to be cut out. In the Silence film, it was almost just professional. Sure Lecter wanted her, but I cant believe Foster would fall for him. Therefore, the book ending of Hannibal would've felt tacked on.
