• As for Nighteyes quirk i think that the persons future he uses it on is set by their own actions but his actions dictate the real future. I.e. when seeing Dekus movements as you said he could have not dodged and it wouldve changed Dekus future.

Why did Mirio choose to protect Eri instead of Deku?

• Deku is not the reason for mirio choosing to protect eri. Nighteye would blame himself for mirio because this is another instance where he could of used his quirk to prevent something tragic. You think so? I kinda picture Nighteye blaming himself more than he would Midoriya, considering his quirk and all.
