Acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney — On Ma, The Walt Disney Company purchased 21st Century Fox for $71.3 Billion which includes the rights to The Simpsons. Due of the acquisition, The ride and the Springfield area would remain in Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.

- One of the main reasons why I go to Universal is because of The Simpsons ride. LOVE IT! Highly recommended, I love this ride. It is one of the few rides with screens that I can do without feeling sick at the end. The show itself is hilarious and still as funny today as it was when it opened. Thrills and laughs!
