When to read The Assassin's Blade In the strictest order, all of the stories compiled take place before Throne of Glass. So if you are a purist who wants to read chronologically, then starting with The Assassin's Blade is the way to go.

The series gets very dark, has some steamy sex, is pretty violent and tackles some heavy issues. The covers don't give you any of that – they are all wrong. That said, don't let the covers put you off. This is a hugely epic, emotionally powerful series that gets better and better with each book.

To be honest, the entire novel was well-executed. “The Queen of Nothing” was a solid conclusion to the series, wrapping everything up with a nice little bow. Cardan is embracing his title as king with the girl he loves by his side.

- For the past three weeks I was immersed in the epic, magical world of the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. Reading this series took A LOT of reading time as it’s seven books long (with the 8th and final book A Kingdom of Ash due out in October 2018). But it was well worth my effort.
