Totally worth it to play on there too especially considering how cheap you can get a copy for nowadays. Side note, every Halo game except 1 and 2 are backwards compatible with all DLC free.
Why Halo 3 ODST is the best?
ODST's graphics were praised for getting more life out of Halo 3's dated engine, but on release its "add-on" sales pitch left people feeling the game was too short and incomplete. Now, with the Master Chief Collection, it really is an add-on, albeit probably the best single player add-on out there.
Is Halo 3 ODST better than reach?
Reach, for sure. I was a little disappointed with ODST, to be perfectly honest, although, to be fair, I only played the campaign. I liked the darker, more serious tone of Reach, and it feels a lot more fleshed out, which makes sense, since ODST is kinda a more fleshed-out expansion compared to the other Halo games.

Why is Halo so awesome?
Halo was at its best when it was about having fun and being social and just overall having the freedom to do whatever you want. Even when competitive Halo was at its peak, the game was still social, fun, and open for anyone to play.
Is Halo 3 ODST dark?
The only game that is excluded from that is Halo 3 ODST. In ODST, the game is quite a bit darker, to the point of black crush in darker sections.

The master chief collection does indeed have a single player campaign. Only halo: reach is available at the moment for PC but the other games will release during 2020 which will also have single player campaigns. You can also play "firefight" solo besides the campaign .
Are ODST better than Spartans?
As much as I love the ODSTs, Spartans are just far superior in training, armor, augmentations, etc. It's not really much of a contest. If you went by gameplay (ODST : Halo Trilogy) then maybe the ODSTs would have a fighting chance. But, canonically, not even a question.
