Zoro bears a striking resemblance to Shimotsuki Ushimaru. Not only does Zoro resemble the Daimyo of Ringo, but he uses the same sword style as him as well. Ushimaru, as we learn, was a descendant of Shimotsuki Ryuma, the God of the Blade.
