Is talion the Witch King?
The Witch-king of Angmar is the leader of the Nine Nazgûl and the secondary antagonist of Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Once a great King of Men, he was eternally bound to the will of Sauron after being given a Ring of Power.
Which Wraith is talion?
Talion holds Mordor for years as he fights a battle inside his head and soul to not become a ringwraith. In the end, one day Witch King and the other seven Nazgul comes to Minas Morgul and Talion joins them as a ring wraith. He takes the place of Isildur amongst the nine.

- Once the time for Talion to join came he no longer had his free will and was forced to join in place of Isildur. Talion was forced to accept wearing Isildur’s ring to prolongate his own life. When Talion was killed for the first time he was banished from the death and bonded with the spirit of Celebrimbor.
How did Talion defeat Sauron in The Lord of the Rings?
- Eventually, Talion builds up enough strength to assault Sauron's fortress directly. During the battle, Talion faces Isildur, now corrupted into a Nazgûl. Talion manages to defeat Isildur, and he and Celebrimbor use the New Ring's power to break Sauron's hold over him.
When does the Nazgul appear in Lord of the Rings?
- Though no longer able to maintain physical form, just as Sauron was after losing the One Ring, both the Nazgûl and Sauron were able to endure as long as the ring survived. The Nazgûl re-emerged around 1301 of the Third Age as Sauron at long last began to take shape after his defeat at the hands of the Last Alliance.
Why did Talion use his ring to free Isildur?
- Talion used his ring to break the hold over Isildur, but Celebrimbor tried to take control of his body. Once Talion witnessed this, he killed Isildur to free him. This angered Celebrimbor because he claimed Isildur could have been viable addition to their fight.
