When Boruto rolls around, Orochimaru's not an antagonist. He's not trying to destroy Konoha. In fact, he's trying to get his hidden village, the village of Sound (Otogakure) into an actual recognized hidden village. He's changed a lot since then and since he poses no threat, he's still alive.
Is Orochimaru good or bad?
According to them, Orochimaru is not evil; no, he just likes to kill and snatch children's bodies to test the limits of mortality and further his goal.
