On the first try Kurisu was saved by Okabe from an incoming vehicle, but it resulted in Okabe dying, which suggested the Steins;Gate attraction field that led to Okabe's absense in the Steins;Gate world line.
What happened to Okabe?
Okabe will disappear or die in 2025 so he has no reason to return. This Suzuha would probably go into hiding. The visual novel did not have the after credits scene, we just knew Okabe left to find Suzuha and Mayuri.
