Marvel Studios is skipping San Diego Comic-Con 2020, but why? Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual gathering will take place virtually, making it more accessible to the general viewing public since everyone from around the world can watch the panels live.

San Diego Comic-Con has announced this year's show will not go on, at least not in person, and the 2021 Anime Expo has now officially canceled its physical event as well. That's the second time in 50 years — the first was last year — that Comic-Con has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why is Comic-Con so expensive?
The long answer is that at Comic-con, everything comes at a premium because Comic-con is special, and because it's special, a lot of people want to go to it. The badges would sell out at twice the price, and the fact is that the prices have crept steadily up for the entire time I've been going.
