Is Jurassic Park novel OK for kids?
I was 11 or 12 when I read the book for the first time (that was in the early 90s, even before the movie was released), and I loved it. ... So, long story short, if your child isn't scared too easily and is interested and technology and science, I would recommend this book. Otherwise it might be better to wait a few years.

It has some swearing and definitely some gore and violence. Nothing sexual in it, though. It might be a little bit mature for a ten year old, but it's a close call.

- Not too scary but sensitive kids may feel it is too tense. This review... Parent of 4 and 6 year olds. Its a great movie and pretty much any kid will love it. Asside from a bit of blood and a second or two with a severed arm, the scenes are not very graphic. The biggest factor with this one is the sustained suspense.
