Fake News Alert : Itachi is not coming back in Boruto series! There is a post circulating on social media claiming that Itachi Uchiha will be reanimated in Boruto series, which is totally false. There is no announcement from Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto & Boruto series author) about Itachi Uchiha return.
How is Itachi alive in Boruto?
Itachi later appeared in the 4th Great Ninja War as a reanimation under the reanimation jutsu but he wasn't actually alive in this state. He “dies” again when the reanimation jutsu is undone. Thus he is nowhere to be seen anytime in the Naruto/Boruto series after the 4th Great Ninja War story arc.
