How does Fernando die in 3%?
He died off screen, beaten by Inland citizens while trying to recruit people to the Shell. The stigma around the Shell spread throughout the Inland and created the tension and anger that brought them to beat Fernando to death.

What is the movie 3% about?
It's set in a futuristic Brazil where economic inequality has put 97 percent of the population in mainland slums, living only for the hope of joining the lucky 3 percent — who are taken to an almost mystical-sounding island called the Offshore, after passing a series of brutal tests known as the Process.
Why is it called 3%?
The group's name derives from the erroneous claim that "the active forces in the field against the King's tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists" during the American Revolution. The group is American-based but also has a presence in Canada.
Who is Fernando Carvalho and what did he do?
- Fernando Carvalho was a candidate in the 104th Process. He was notably one of the only physically disabled candidates, being in a wheelchair. Fernando had spent his whole life dedicating himself to the 104th Process. He is ambitious, goal-orientated and fierce, yet also caring and honest.
