How did Sans get his powers? I think he gets his powers from DETERMINATION. Evidence to support this is; his power relative to Mettaton NEO(he's detirmined, but doesn't have DETERMINATION), how he disables invinvibility, and his ability to dodge. He knows how to win, unlike Undying.
Why is Sans HP so low?
Why does Sans have only 1hp? With so little known about Sans, it's unknown why he only has 1HP storywise. In regards to the game's code, his HP is not needed to calculate how much health he has left. In fact, the health bar isn't even drawn because the code sets drawbar to 0, meaning false.

Sans is given attractive traits, he is always grinning and smiling, which your brain recognizes and makes you feel good. Looking at anything that you perceive as a grin, even subconsciously, makes you feel better. ... Thanks to having a magical member, Sans is equipped in any way a person wants.

- Canonically, Sans could have much more than one HP. As we see in the genocide route, you do over 999999 damage to him, while he is exhausted aswell. Since he is tired, his guard will drop, and as you do over 999999 damage to him, he dies. This is something that everybody puts aside because sans 'only has 1 hp'.
Why does Sans have such low HP in Undertale?
- Sans is probably the least determined monster in the underground. Characters like Undyne have huge defence because she is so determined. Almagates are unkillable. If I'm wrong I would love to read other theories and stuff. Thats HP, not Defence and Attack. I believe it's because he is so undetermined.
