What does Hisoka want with Gon?
I believe Hisoka has mixed feelings. His stated goal is to allow Gon to "ripen" (achieve his full potential), then defeat him, body and soul. Yet he also has high respect for Gon and will protect him, at least until that "harvest". We even see him as an ally during the Yorknew City and Greed Island arcs.
Why was Hisoka obsessed with Gon?
Gon will keep trying so undeniably, Gon will continue to make progress in his growth. Hisoka is very attracted to the idea of building something up just to break it down; in a way, to follow his own will and to do what others say he can't do. Gon is the same way.
