The Endwalker name may suggest FFXIV is coming to an end, but the game's millions of devoted fans don't need to worry, as the story of Eorzea isn't concluding with the expansion. The official FFXIV Twitter account confirmed Endwalker is only finishing the main storyline that started in A Realm Reborn.

The job system on ffxi is so deep compared to ffxiv where everything is simplified as you said and homogenized. All the jobs play too similar to each other in comparison and the combat rotation gets super repetitive. With that said though I love both MMOs and I can see why they can coexist with each other well.
