Even in the season finale, "Red Sleigh Down", when Kenny suddenly showed up at the end of the episode, Kyle asked where he's been, and Kenny said he had just been hanging out, suggesting that he wasn't dead. Kind of far-fetched, but it's an interesting theory to have.
